New news

Following my last post called Some News, I didn’t get any submission for the Double Critique: Landscapes. If any of my readers is interested in an honest critique, for landscapes or other, you can still contact me and I would be happy to help you.

I will however shift the focus of the blog slightly. Instead of being just dedicated to Photography, I will now talk about Photography, Pets, Games and Stuff ie basically everything I like. To that effect I changed the template of the blog and will add little by little to the other categories.

In Pets, you will find Red Pandas, Otters and other cutsies.
In Games, you will find video games to sports related articles.
In Stuff all the other things that are not photography, pets or games related.

I hope you will enjoy it and give me your feedback through comments or the contact me page.

Some news

Just in case people still visit this blog, I wanted to give some updates. Due to changes in the firewall I use during the week, I can’t access a lot of the sites I used to and when I can access I can’t leave likes comments.

I extended the submission date for Landscapes and posted the results of Flowers. If I don’t get any submission by the 07/02, I will assume that people are not interested and I will stop it. If you have a picture you would like me to critique by mail feel free to send me the link to it and I will answer as soon as possible.

I’m still trying to figure out my style but this time I’d like to take my time and not hurry things up.

• This is the end: I didn’t renew my Aminus account and don’t plan on adding anything new to it.
• No Surprises: FStoppers listed the 48 photographers to follow on 500px and *shockingly* I’m not in the list 😉 I already followed a lot but added some more with that.

• Kickstarted: If you have an Iphone and love Lensbaby, I suggest you have a look at this page that should put you over the moon.
• Abandoned: This article from PetaPixel reminded me of my expedition with Celine and Christine to the Long Island Farm Colony
• Phlearn: Not really a made up word, it’s one of my new source of inspiration. I loved the interview they did with Alexander Khokhlov. Felt really inspired.
• Crazy: FStoppers published an article about “Sharpening with Blur” to get realistic results. I just added it to the Tutorials page.
• Listed: 500px released recently the 31 sexy cars that will electrify your evening, 36 photos of precious puffins that will melt your heart  and 21 photos of cute baby giraffes that will make your day better. I’m pretty sure you will find at least one picture that will make your day!

• Vivian Maier: Thanks to Donald at 50’lux, I heard about Vivan Maier and I find the trailer and the story fascinating.
• The Clone Wars: It is no secret I’m a big Star Wars fan and I love to mix toys and “real” subjects, so imagine my joy when 500px did a blog post about Stormtroopers doing Awesome things
• Wild Portraits: Petapixel had a beautiful post on Intimate black and white portraits of exotic animals in captivity that I recommend for the beautiful pictures.

• New venture: Zack Arias just launched a new website called DEDPXL. They have Q&A, news, Assignments, Critiques. I thank Celine for showing me Zack’s world through Photography Q&A
• Cool cool cool: Loved this very creative ad from Subaru
• Hit-Girl: Great idea from Kaija Straumanis showcased on PetaPixel. I love the creative use of composites and don’t think I could have thought about this on my own. Brillant.
• Magic: FStoppers gave us the secret of the levitation effect. *Mind blown*

• Timelapse: I love Yosemite and I love timelapses so I do love this video.
• Kickstarted: Petapixel showed how Kickstarter was used to maintain and transform 2 old buses in mobile photobooth in this article.
• Ethical question: FStoppers ran this article about a woman suing a 3rd party for the use of her mugshot. The comments and article are interesting.

• SNL: We watch SNL with Celine and it was funny to see this timelapse from one of the most recent cast member
• TWD: The Walking Dead came back this week end and Conan made a funny promo for it.
